I became Acting Chair in November 2019 following the sudden illness of the Chair. Previously, I had been Vice Chair and then Deputy Chair of the Board with special interest in small communities and particular responsibility for cemeteries and burials.
I have been a member of East London and Essex Liberal Synagogue, or one if its preincarnations for 30 years, and was Chair of Rites and Practices and Vice-Chair of the community. I lead services there and in other communities on occasion. Prior to ELELS, I was a member of Crawley Jewish community of which my father was a founding member.
I am the proud mother of 3 adult children, all of whom have secure Jewish identities. I am a chartered civil engineer, a qualified physics teacher and I have a masters degree in management from Imperial College.
